Look for named protein sources (e.g., 'chicken') not 'meat meal'

Our Ingredient Philosophy

Purrwise generally prefers simpler, more transparent formulas when possible. Processing is normal in commercial cat food, and complete diets often require added nutrients.

However, Purrwise gives preference to foods built around clearly named animal ingredients, moisture, and transparent sourcing rather than formulas that rely heavily on rendered meals, vague ingredients, plant protein concentrates, starch-heavy fillers, artificial colors, or long premix-heavy ingredient lists.
